The role: Enterprise Geospatial Deployment Manager, Asia

On the Technical Online Help team, you're just that, helping new Enterprise customers get up to speed with Google tools like Apps, Search and Chrome through our online self-help platform. Thanks to you, leading companies, schools and government agencies get Google-caliber customer service on demand. You design, improve and scale the self-help platform, marked by its stellar user experience and clean navigation. Schooled in search optimization techniques, you collaborate with fellow marketing and technical support Googlers to make sure the experience of going Google is powerful and seamless.
Deployment Managers work with Google’s customers and partners to deploy Google’s Geospatial Enterprise (primarily Google Maps API Premier, Google Earth Enterprise and Google Earth Builder) Products, and to help create the tools and processes to support deployment. You will provide technical deployment assistance and solution design as part of a global Geospatial service line, and will support your deployments with project management tasks to ensure successful deployment of customer solutions. You will also work closely with product engineers, the Geospatial support team, and sales engineers to improve the product's vision and to make Google customers successful in deploying the product.
Responsibilities:
* Work with customers and partners, both remotely and onsite, to design and implement geospatial solutions using Google products such as Maps API Premier, Google Earth Enterprise software and Google Earth Builder.
* Provide hands-on technical implementation and guidance for Google Maps API Premier and Google Earth Enterprise products, including working on customer applications, authoring documentation and code samples, and performing system configuration.
* Identify and document bugs and feature requests in the products and work with engineers and customers to implement effective solutions. Work closely with engineers, product managers and sales engineers to improve the products, up to and including suggested changes to the product code.
* Design and deliver enablement tools and best practices to help customers and partners deploy Google’s geospatial solutions more effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
* BA or BS Degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience).
* 7 years of industry experience in a customer-facing role in professional services, software development, systems integration or systems engineering, preferably with project or account management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience developing web-based (preferably geospatial) applications; strong understanding of web development protocols (HTML5, AJAX, XML, JSON), preferably with good understanding of Geospatial technologies (KML, GeoRSS, etc).
* Demonstrated experience in managing multiple streams of work, and complex customer requirements.
* Proactive, can-do attitude, follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills.
* Good Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python or Perl) skills strongly preferred with hands-on experience developing, implementing and supporting geospatial applications.
* Extensive travel will be required (50% or more), including international travel.
