The Role:

Bloomberg News seeks a reporter in its Shanghai office to cover the Chinese stock market. Knowledge of the financial markets and economy is essential, as is at least two years of business reporting experience at a major newspaper or wire service. The successful applicant will produce breaking news stories under real-time deadline pressure, contribute regular enterprise pieces, and write stories that are clear and comprehensive.

The reporter will focus on all aspects of Chinese stock markets, including daily trading, regulatory developments and trends in earnings and corporate finance as they affect share prices. The reporter will also be expected to monitor industry recommendations, to quickly notice and explain individual share movements, and to develop sources among the market's most successful traders and investors.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Experience of working in a real-time news environment is desirable.
- Experience covering financial markets is desirable as is knowledge of the economy and business. Knowledge of stock markets in particular is an advantage.
- 2 years of business reporting experience is required as are superior math skills and attention to detail.
