Our Engineering Managers need to be technical leaders and motivators who are comfortable leading these teams in a high-pressure, dynamic ? and global ? environment. Jobs are broadly defined and interact with Product Management, Sales and other groups at Google.
The role: Technical Program Manager, Privacy
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Privacy, you will manage privacy projects for Google. The Privacy team works closely with product teams around the world to meet the strong privacy requirements of upcoming product launches. You will run projects directly and contribute to other projects indirectly. You are a problem solver with a broad set of tools challenged by keeping an innovative engineering team motivated and on track. You lead by example and inspire people to do their best.
You will work closely with software engineers and cross-functional technical teams to get high-quality products built, tested and released on time. You will be launching many large and small, fast-changing features and are a master at coordinating a multitude of inputs into one product on a fast and furious schedule. You will need excellent communication skills to be the point of contact for all questions related to schedules, quality and progress updates.
Responsibilities:
* Manage technical projects across Google, working closely with engineers to develop and track release milestones and schedules for the many moving parts that need to come together.
* Remove roadblocks and keep processes running smoothly.
* Manage communication on progress/status; escalate issues as necessary.
* Take ownership for the productivity of the cross functional teams.
Requirements:
* BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
* Experience in managing large, complex projects.
* Extensive experience solving a diverse set of problems to ensure the highest level of productivity.
* Experience leading teams of highly talented, independent individuals. Proven track record of quickly earning credibility based on your knowledge, throughput and amazing accomplishments.
* Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
* Knowledge of writing code and exposure to large-scale systems.
* A strong sense of focus and excellent attention to detail while working in a very fast-paced environment.
