The job
The key function of the role is the timely reporting of management information on a monthly and annual basis and for ensuring that all reconciliations are carried out accurately and on time.
The role is also responsible for data analysis, report generation, local regulatory filing and the completion of management accounts. Integrity and attention to detail are key elements within this role.
Whilst based in the Dutch facility the role will include activities from across the European business as a whole. Supporting and developing the financial activities of a new legal entity currently being established in Cape Town, South Africa may also be part of the role.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of accurate and reliable financial data for management information reports which are then provided to US Corporate function.
* Reconcile the balance sheet accounts from the system and ensure that all are correct in preparation for the monthly management report.
* Analysis of equipment expenditure, equipment stock, product stock and fixed assets on a monthly basis as part of the reconciliation.
* Ensuring the consistent integrity of information.
* Management of overhead accounts ensuring that all costs are in the correct cost centre and general ledger account.
* Monthly Management accounts for CMNL [and CMZA] incorporating an analysis of cost centre expenditure and income versus budget.
* Issue cost centre manager packs providing information on the relevant cost centre.
* Compilation and submission of government reports such as VAT returns and statistical reports.
* Consolidation of budgetary information from all departments.
* Supporting other departments in preparing budgetary information.
* Management of car fleet.
* Management of the relationship of various external service providers such as
* Audit and tax advice
* Car leasing providers
* Mobile phone contract
* Holiday cover for CMEU Financial Controller.
Requirements
Essential
* Significant previous experience in a similar accountancy role.
* In depth knowledge of business and accountancy systems.
* Advanced excel knowledge and experience.
* Ability to generate clear reports.
* First-rate attention to detail.
* An excellent numerical ability.
* Experience within international business environment.
* Fluent in Dutch and English.
* Experience managing relationships in Netherlands with 3rd parties including audit, tax, VAT.
* Experience handling Dutch corporation tax.
Desired
* Oracle and Discoverer experience.
* Relevant industry experience.
* Awareness of UK financial practices.
* Experience of Sarbane Oxley.
Qualifications/Training

* Recognised Accountancy qualification.

* There may be some requirement for overseas travel.
* In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, other duties may be assigned by the Line Manager.
