The YouTube and Video team helps budding filmmakers and musicians build careers, creates products like Google TV and YouTube Live and runs collaborative projects like Life in a Day and the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. We are leading a change in how we entertain, inform and share with one another, whether through cat videos or footage of a revolution in progress.
The role: Product Manager, Google TV Platform

The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch, and with our business partners to generate profitable revenue streams. As part of the Product Management team, you bridge technical and business worlds as you design technologies with creative and prolific engineers and then zoom out to lead matrix teams such as Sales, Marketing and Finance, to name a few. You have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Google speed. As a Product Manager, you can be part of shaping Google's next game-changer.
The individual will be responsible for building the Google TV platform to support a wide range of CE manufacturers, SOCs, third-party application developers, system integrators, and content partners. In your role, you will be defining product requirements for the audio/video stack, security features, DRM support, and platform extensions to Android and Chrome to support third-party developers for TV. In your role, you will also be working closely with internal Google product teams (Android, Chrome, Google service teams). This role will be based in Seoul, Korea. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, passion and expertise in building embedded software platforms, hardware optimizations, and developer products, and business/leadership skills to drive relationships with senior executives of our most critical partners.
Responsibilities:
* Define product requirements, initiate and prioritize projects within engineering, assist in determining the best technical implementation, track product development, and develop product launch plans.
* Work closely with CE manufacturers and our Partner Services Organization to build great products based on the Google TV platform.
* Drive our 3rd-party developer strategy, along with the Business Development and Developer Relations teams.
* Hours and hours of television watching.
Minimum qualifications:
* BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
* 5 of relevant experience in the consumer electronics or embedded software space.
* Ability to travel periodically.
Preferred qualifications:
* M.S. or Ph.D.
* Proven track record for product delivery and demonstrated ability to provide hands-on management.
* Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment.
* Distinctive problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience coordinating with teams in other offices.
