Principal Accountabilities
· Manage insights-driven packaging innovation projects to deliver Business Unit's plans, ensuring execution meets the time, quality and cost requirements of the project brief
· Deliver sustainable productivity through PepsiCo supply chain through leading technology enabled programmes, predominately focussed on flexible packaging
· Manage programmes to deliver environmentally sustainable packaging across Europe aligned to PepsiCo's public commitments
· Manage the core packaging suppliers. Manage effective on-boarding of emerging / start-up suppliers into the PepsiCo Supply Chain through cross functional alignment with the Vendor Assurance group.
· Actively seek and develop new technology solutions, leveraging the global foods & beverages R&D team, and externally through supply chain / academia / open innovation etc.
· Generation and prototyping of packaging samples to illustrate technical possibilities for future growth platforms across the foods business in Europe
· Manage packaging test equipment; ensuring kit is effective, calibrated and maintained in support of gathering trial data etc. Maintain an asset register and store in appropriate conditions, partnering with the analytical laboratory team. Provide training to new users / and recommend best practice as well as identifying new test methodologies / equipment.
· Demonstrate effective use of available planning tools and processes to schedule work activities and goals with minimal supervision
· Generate hypotheses and conduct sound project research-Plan, design, execute and report statistically sound experiments in a precise and timely manner to generate and test new hypotheses. Make recommendations based on data analysis and input from others
· Collaborate with peers to secure and organise shared resources for project goals (e.g. Pilot Plant Equipment & Staff)
Desired Skills & Experience
· Track record of NPD project management
· Graduate in a Packaging Material Engineering / Polymer Science / Food Science or related discipline or equivalent
· Previous experience in FMCG R&D, raw material or product or technology development roles
· Passion for creativity and innovation within a commercially driven environment
· Strives for high standards, seeks innovative solutions, drives continuous improvement of products and processes and demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail
· Deep understanding of Packaging Engineering and Manufacturing
· In-depth analytical skills to interpret complex data and distil into meaningful information e.g. interpreting consumer insights, experimental design and statistical inference
· Strong project management skills to effectively drive a project or multiple partial projects
· Strong presentation skills (written & verbal)
