My Client and international and successful company is looking to recruit a new role, This role has emerged due to continued growth. The successful person can be based anywhere in Europe, although extensive travel is a major part of the position.
Job Description
You'll play a fundamental role in developing future growth, and provide vision, direction and leadership. Your specific duties include:
Sales
• Developing and implementing long and short-term sales strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets.
• Delivering sales by developing relationships with prospects, clients, suppliers, distributors, internal departments and partners.
• Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets.
• Increasing market share in existing markets and maximise new business development opportunities.
• Achieving targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth.
• Forecasting of monthly, quarterly and annual revenues.
• Identifying areas where new revenues can be generated through means such as cross-selling opportunities and negotiating large scale contracts.
• Work in partnership with the NPD team on new product development linked to the outcome of the data collected in the prospect list.

Marketing
• Identification of new markets and new products.
• Develop a detailed Marketing strategy directly linked to revenue generation from each of the marketing activities.
• Develop, implement and manage all marketing and communication plans and activities, to include PR, website, events, exhibitions etc.
• Provide direction to external marketing & communication agencies.

General
• Acting as an ambassador and role model
• Ownership of SageCRM system.
• People management (including recruitment, training and development) and provide direction to your department.
• Continuous improvements and efficiencies in the sales and marketing areas, implementing best practice, improve reporting and generate more effective analysis.
• P&L Responsibilities for sales and marketing.
• Preparation and delivery of business plans and budgets which includes revenue and profit targets.
• Extensive travel in Europe is part of the role.
Core duties include:
• To ensure the Sales Directors provide timely and accurate reports.
• To attend the divisional management meetings.
• To chair regular Sales Director meetings.
• To prepare and present budgets and business plans in conjunction with the Group Finance Director and CEO.
• To develop the team and oversee the management of staff appraisals, reviews etc.
• To establish and maintain reporting systems for KPIs on each activity, including ensuring efficient and accurate use of Sage CRM by your sales teams.
• To attend industry events and functions, meetings as necessary.
• To work with internal departments to achieve the business objectives.
• To work in partnership with the New Product Development (NPD) team and be a member of the NPD steering group.

• Reliable and good attention to detail.
• Good IT (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), budget and report writing skills.
• A full driving license.
• In addition to fluent English, be able to speak German.


Personal Characteristic Requirements

You'll need proven senior New Business, Sales & Marketing management experience, together with a good record of achieving targets. my client prefers you to have a business-degree, but your experience and track record are considered of equal importance as your formal qualifications.
It will be an advantage to have work-based qualifications, from professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM) and the Managing and Marketing Sales Association (MAMSA).
An additional advantage is to have expert market knowledge gained from experience in design or manufacturing or packaging industries.

Hours & Environment
You'll be office-based, but also spend much of your time visiting clients, prospects, partners, suppliers and your sales team in the field. You may also need to attend conferences, trade fairs and exhibitions. The job involves extensive travel throughout Europe.
